Who knew Queen Latifa still was on top of her rap game. Though she had mic problems her lyrics were tight. And then Cathleen Battle [the opera singer] put that freshness on it. How about them apples?!..... Oh but wait.... Chris Brown won Artist of the Year??????! That was some bull; and Mariah Carey is now bigger than Elvis????? I don't know about those two, but the rest of the show was straight.
A purported message from al Qaeda’s deputy leader posted on Islamist Web sites on Wednesday told President-elect Barack Obama that “a heavy legacy of failure and crimes awaits you.” Ayman al-Zawahiri, al Qaeda’s No. 2, castigated Obama, saying “in you and in Colin Powell, (Condoleezza) Rice and your likes, the words of Malcolm X (may Allah have mercy on him) concerning ‘House Negroes’ are confirmed.”
Who the f*ck does this guy think he is???! These are straight up fighting words that will not be tolerated! Ok, ok, ok, Condi might be a house negro [*snickers], but to call out Colin Powell and Obama...... Oh hell no! I knew some terrorist would test Obama, but to just blaitantly send a threat such as this racist comment above was unexpected. I have no more words.
So last night I had the opportunity to listen to the new Beyonce / Sasha Fierce album. It is not good at all! I have to say, from front to back it is straight up garbage. I really didn't know what was going on. The Beyonce tracks were all slow country songs with acoustic guitars [very much the same as "If I were a Boy"], and the Sasha side was just terrible techno crap. There is a song on the Sasha side call "Diva". I promise to God that sh*t sounds like a female version of "A Millie". Its has a very similar beat, but instead of some dude in the background singing a millie, a millie, a millie, Beyonce [or Shasha] is in the background singing ima ima a diva, ima ima a diva. the whole time I was thinking "so now Beyonce is jockin Lil Wayne?" The song is wack. Then we have "Sweet Dreams" that leaked to the internet back in February. This album is such a waste of time. I don't know if it was particularly wack to me only because I had just finished listening to the T-Pain album [which is the sh*t], but "I Am" is straight up garbage. Honestly I think Beyonce needs to get her personality disorder together and put out some quality work.
What else, really, is there to say???? I am so completely amazed and astounded. Not only do we have a black president, but with Obama, I believe, we have the second coming of JFK. Today is a day that is cause for immense celebration. A day that I will not forget for the rest of my life. i do have something to say to black community though: WE NEED TO GET OUR ACT TOGETHER! Obama has set the bar and raised the standards. We really need to step up to the plate! This means no more black on black crime; no more half stepping when it comes to our education; and no more saying that "the man" is trying to hold us back. We are the man.
For some reason, last night when I was thinking about todays election and the history that is being made, my mind went back to last year when Patty Labelle was robbed on Clash of the Chiors and Nick Lachey's chior won. I was mad. In retrospect, I realize that real reason team Labelle lost was because not enough people voted [myself included]. People, please go out and vote today. This is the last chance. [Hopefully] by tonight we will know the results, and all of this back and forth foolishness will be over. Vote or die!
Who better to endorse the McCain / Palin ticket that a bunch of gun happy dumb dumbs. Just another tactic to distract the public from the real issues such at the economy and energy independence [smph]; and frankly its getting old. I'm tired of blogging about McCain and his back-handed ways. Good thing Barack is sooooo going to win tomorrow making McCain irrelevant. Just make sure you vote. Obama '08!.
