I could be stupid, but I feel a little perplexed. As you all should know, President Obama has been on the recieving end of plenty of critisism from the Republican party because of his stimulus package. Apparently only 3 Republicans voted for it. People like John McCain have been openly critical about Obama's effort to "reach accross the aisle". McCain has even gone as far to say that Obama has done a "terrible" job of reaching accross the aisle. This got me thinking. Up until justa few weeks ago, who had been running the country for eight years? Republicans. And what type of government were they running? These people act as if the current economic porblems have just magically appeared over the last 27 days. They've been doing all this talk about how Obama is not listenign to their party's concerns. Well, guess who won the election! And guess how most economist say he did it. I'll give you a hint; its because of his ecomnomic policies. Which means that inversly the losers lost because of theirs. Its funny how the people who gave a hand in driving us off a cliff are now trying to give us driving lessons.

“I didn’t really mean anything,” James said. “Even as a little child, I’ve always had that comedian kind of attitude. … That’s probably what went into it.” Still, James acknowledged being miffed she wasn’t invited to perform her signature song for Obama’s first dance with his wife on inauguration night. James said she was “feeling left out of something that was basically mine, that I had done every time you look around.” She said she liked Beyoncé’s performance, but when asked if she thought she could have done better, James answered, “I think so. That’s a shame to say that.” James said Thursday she kept the insults rolling only because the crowd was laughing so hard, a reaction that can be heard on a recording. “Nobody was getting mad at me in Seattle,” she said. “They were all laughing, and it was funny.” She questioned how upset Obama could possibly be about the barb: “He’s got other stuff [to worry about] besides Etta James.”

Obama Does the Latest Issue of Spiderman

With the Obama fever soon to hit a pinnacle next week, the president to-be and his childhood love of Marvel Comics resulted in the release of a special edition of The Amazing Spider-Man for issue #583. The comics storyline features attempts by the Chameleon to ruin Obama’s inauguration day only for Spider-Man to come in and save the day (no surprises there right?). The comic book was officially released on Wednesday, January 14th and largely sold-out however a massive amount have made their way to eBay.

A purported message from al Qaeda’s deputy leader posted on Islamist Web sites on Wednesday told President-elect Barack Obama that “a heavy legacy of failure and crimes awaits you.” Ayman al-Zawahiri, al Qaeda’s No. 2, castigated Obama, saying “in you and in Colin Powell, (Condoleezza) Rice and your likes, the words of Malcolm X (may Allah have mercy on him) concerning ‘House Negroes’ are confirmed.”
Who the f*ck does this guy think he is???! These are straight up fighting words that will not be tolerated! Ok, ok, ok, Condi might be a house negro [*snickers], but to call out Colin Powell and Obama...... Oh hell no! What else, really, is there to say???? I am so completely amazed and astounded. Not only do we have a black president, but with Obama, I believe, we have the second coming of JFK. Today is a day that is cause for immense celebration. A day that I will not forget for the rest of my life. i do have something to say to black community though: WE NEED TO GET OUR ACT TOGETHER! Obama has set the bar and raised the standards. We really need to step up to the plate! This means no more black on black crime; no more half stepping when it comes to our education; and no more saying that "the man" is trying to hold us back. We are the man.
