BET Gets Educational [Finally!]

Finally BET has given Jeff Johnson a show. Its a shame that he is the only educated person who works for the channel, but these days we just have to take what we can get. Tonight at 11pm EST BET's The Truth with Jeff Johnson makes it's television debut. Tonight's discussion is about how race has effected the presidential election. Also Jeff and his panel will pay tribute to comedian Bernie Mac and musician Isaac Hayes. Tonight's panel will include hip hop producer Ryan Leslie, Keith Boykin, Angela McGlowan, Reggie Hudlin, and Melvin Van Peebles.

Here We Go Again

For the umpteenth time this year [sixth to be exact] DMX was arrested as he attempted to go shopping on Thursday afternoon in Miami. The arrest was the result of a skipped court date Tuesday, the result of drug charges in Arizona. Police in Miami, Florida arrested and handcuffed the him as he attempted to leave an area Wal-Mart. DMX was reportedly trying to surrender to police through negotiations with his lawyer. The 37-year-old rapper was to appear in Arizona for a pretrial conference for allegations of marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession. DMX, born Earl Simmons, faces a number of charges in Phoenix, Arizona, ranging from animal cruelty charges to taking on the personality of another person.

Executives his company, KW Foods LLC, have purchased the rights to the North American Fatburger franchise to develop 10 fast food joints in Chicago. The first of the eateries is set to open in Orland Park in September, while a second restaurant will open in January.

Cassie Fights Cancer with Nipple Rings?

Cassie recently opened up and spoke on why she pierced her nipples…

Sexy R&B star CASSIE had her nipples pierced to help her keep breast cancer at bay. The pretty 22 year old’s mother is a two-time breast cancer survivor and the singer was recently tested to make sure she was free of the disease. After the check-up, Cassie had her nipples pierced in a bid to show cancer she was a fighter. She says, “I got my piercings before I got my results, like positive energy… I think it’s sexy. I’m proud of them.” But she admits the decision to get pierced would have backfired on her if medics found the cancer gene. Cassie adds, “I’m sitting there with my parents, my mom’s sobbing after she finds out that I don’t have the gene, and I’m like, `Guess what, mom and dad, I got my nipples pierced.’ “It was nerve-racking because I was like, `My mom’s going to kill me if I have this gene and I got these things.’”

The 2006 all-around U.S. National Champion, the 2007 and 2008 U.S. National Champion on the pommel horse and an individual bronze medalist at the 2006 World Championships, Artemev is a member of the U.S. team for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
