I will say that I was pleasantly surprised when I heard Rihanna's upcoming album "Rated R". Although she only has three co-writing credits, her choice of producers were on point. Chris Brown Sentenced to Five Years Probation

According to CNN, Chris Brown was sentenced Ttoday to serve five years probation and more than 1,400 hours in “labor-oriented service” for assaulting his pop star girlfriend, Rihanna. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg said in the sentencing she wants to see Brown conduct “actual physical labor, as opposed to some type of community service.” The sentencing was delayed earlier this month because documents detailing Brown’s proposed community service plan in Virginia, where he maintains a legal residence and wants to serve his sentence, had not arrived in time for Schnegg to review them. Brown’s probation will be overseen by the state of California, the judge said. He must also complete domestic violence counseling. There you have it folks. I still say Rihanna started it, but I guess we may never know.

Chris Brown Finally Apologizes

This is the video that just popped up on YouTube moments ago! All I can say is WOW! Finally we hear something from either Rihanna or Chris. I commend Chris for apologizing. It must have been very difficult for him to deal with all the bad press and gossip sites trashing his name and saying that his career was over. I can only hope that the public at large will forgive him and let him move on with his life and career. Of course the comments on YouTube have been ruthless; people calling him an asshole, people outright saying that they don't accept his apology. But what I feel the public at large doesn't get is the fact that we don't need to accept his apologies. He did nothing wrong to us, and although what happened between him and Rihanna didn't quite stay between him and Rihanna, this is a matter that should be resolved between the two. Everyone else should really fall back with their two cents.

IT HURTS ME TO SEE THE OLD AND VERY WRONG VERSION OF THE PARANOID VIDEO GET LEAKED ALL OVER THE NET WHILE I WAS ON AN 11 HR FLIGHT AND COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. IT'S JUST FRUSTRATING WHEN THIS STUFF HAPPENS BECAUSE I REALLY CARE ABOUT THE PRODUCT AND SINCE VIDEOS NEVER GET PLAYED ANY WAY YOU MIGHT AS WELL TWEAK THEM AND MAKE THEM AS SPECIAL AS POSSIBLE. THE VERSION THAT GOT LEAKED FROM THE CAMERA PHONE LAST WEEK IS AT LEAST A LITTLE CLOSER TO THE FINAL PRODUCT. THANK YOU EVERYBODY FOR YOUR SUPPORT BUT THAT VIDEO WAS NOT UP TO MY STANDARDS.

L.A. Reid Unveils Spring Collection

L.A. Reid unveiled Island Def Jam’s Spring Collection in New York City. Reid introduced a slew of new acts including Jeremih (Birthday Sex fame), Kristinia Debarge, and Usher’s new artist Justin Bieber. But the big star of the night was Rihanna. She was presented with a platinum plaque for selling 12 million records since her debut abum Music Of The Sun. Some people can say what they want about Rihanna being a “talent-less non singer” but this chick has no doubt been on major grind mode. She has done what most acts DREAM of doing in a short span of 3-4 years. Not to mention the fact that she has the fashion game on smash! Reid also debuted new videos by Kayne West and Rihanna for “Paranoid” and The Dream’s “Walking On The Moon” which also features Kayne West. As a bonus, Reid played a new Mariah Carey song off her Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel album titled “H-A-T-E U”. I gotta say, I’m surprised at how fast Mariah’s new album is being made. Then again, she was known for having a new album every year, so I guess this is nothing new, huh? I'm very surprised to see that Amerie was present. I was SOO under the impression that she got dropped form the label a while back.
