Over all, I'm not really feeling the collection as a whole. It doesn't say "cohesive" to me. The zipper detail on the one cardigan was pretty fresh, but the distressed jeans are a thing of the past. I prefer my denim dark and fitted. I think it would be in Diddy's best interest to do some guest designing for other brands, such as H&M and a really high end brand like Alexander McQueen, to establish him as a real designer.

Follow Friday: Sa-Ra Creative Partners

Sa-Ra is a hip-hop group based in Los Angeles, California, also known by its full name, Sa-Ra Creative Partners. The group is comprised of Om'Mas Keith, Taz Arnold, and Shafiq Husayn . The name translates roughly to "the children of God." Sa-Ra formed in the late 1990s from a trio of industry producers, musicians, and executives. The group’s discography includes songs with artists such as Jurassic 5, Pharoahe Monch, and Erykah Badu. The group had previously been signed to Kanye West's GOOD Music label, where it planned to release their debut full-length LP. The label was dissolved by distributor Sony BMG, and the group signed a deal with independent label Babygrande.

Mackdaddy - Mack Sk8

Here is a look into the up coming drop from Japanese brand Mackdaddy, who has been going strong for about a decade in Tokyo. The obvious influence can be spotted from the design and it’s name but the Mack Sk8 offers new bright colorway to the simple classic skate shoes we know and love. Mackdaddy is a brand know for their crazy colors and designs and the combination of patent leather and suede captures their personality. Even the quirky Mackdaddy logo on the outsole is designed so that every time the shoes is worn, their logo get imprinted on the ground as footprints. There are three colors available in blue, pink and yellow and will be available for purchase very soon.

VANS Syndicate - Sk8 Hi “S” Notch Back

Skateboarding legend Jason Jesse used to make noise in the 80’s and now he is currently making noise for his chopper building skills. It is no surprise that VANS Syndicate and Jesse collaborate on this Sk8 Hi model that is truely one of a kind. The simple looking Sk8 Hi has been modified with premium leather upper that almost resembles working boots with white stitching reinforcements. Key feature of this sneaker is the notch back in the upper heel section that adds characteristics when viewed from behind. Eyelets have been placed on the two upper lace holes giving it boot like appearance and high lighted with orange pin stripe on the white midsole bringing it all together. The shoes comes in special box and orange pouch with black and white laces to match.

Singer Cassie has been catching a lot of hate over this recently released photo of her on the set of a photo shoot, but I must say that I like it. Overall I don't like the shaved head thing on her [it really does not match her music or image], but there are ways to make it work, I guess.

Samantha Ronson x Supra NS Indy

A friend of Supra since their beginnings, Samantha Ronson was offered a chance to create her own rendition of the brand’s Indy NS model for the Fall 2009 season. The shoes are given a black/gold colorway with a distressed suede upper amongst the signature NS platform. These special Indy’s are now available through Factory 413. Additionally, Supra will be throwing an official launch party this Saturday, August 8th, at Angels & Kings in Chicago with a live DJ set by Ms. Ronson and performance by the GZA of Wu-Tang fame. Overall I think Sam could have done a better job. Black and gold is a wildly popular color combination, and I feel that this design is way too simple. As a potential customer, if I wore a black and gold shoe I would want the gold to be placed somewhere unexpected, such as the bottom, to give it an extra kick.
