Trey Songz has yet again surprised his fans with another unexpected mixtape. This time it consists of entirely new material that just missed the cut for his new album, "Ready", scheduled to hit stores August 4th. Here is what Songz said via his blog:

Musically, I'm currently in a creative space like no other. I feel as though whenever a mic is put in front of me, I can do no wrong. At a time in the music industry where album sales are low, fans are fickle, inconsistent, or more into the various songs than they are the particular artist, I feel that I must give u a reason to love me. Embed in you a desire to love me and an appreciation for the music. I must show you that not only do I LOVE what I do but I also do it well.

Kanye West x Louis Vuitton 2009 Spring/Summer Collection Photoshoot by La MJC

One of Paris’ most well-known cultural drivers, La MJC recently put together a stellar photo and styling shoot involving all the models of Kanye West’s upcoming sneaker collection with Louis Vuitton. The imagery goes a long way in terms of presenting the sneakers in the proper context as well as giving us real-world looks at the models which include The Don, The Jasper, The Mr Hudson. Many more pics can also be seen at La MJC’s Cool Cats blog. And real talk, I think some of these look better than the Air Yeezys [i.e. the gray ones with the hot pink bottom].

This looks epic! The jury is still out, at least for me, on weather or not Cudi is a solid artist. As of late his mixtapes are so-so and the tracks that continue to leak every other week are kinda lame. We shall see if this man is worth all the hype on August 25.

The BET Awards 09; It Was SOOOO Slow!

Well, what can I say???? THE FxCKIN BET AWARDS SUCKED SOOOOO MUCH ASS! The whole Michael Jackson death was such a boost to the ratings, and sure enough BET dropped the ball! I'm not even going to go in on the pre-show and how it looked like a high school talent show. I'm not even gonna go in on how Joe Jackson was on the red carpet plugging his new record label. And I'm not even gonna go in on how the show was FOUR [4] HOURS LONG! Lets just start with the opening act! New Edition [I seriously had to think about who they were for a minute]! Nobody knew who the hell they were when the show started!!! And how about BET got a six [6] member group to do a tribute to the Jackson 5 !!!!

And I just keep thinking about how Deborah Lee said that they put the show together in 3 or 4 days because they wanted to "celebrate" the life of MJ. Well, it showed! That shit looked like it was thrown together! Jamie Foxx was killing me! This man couldn't read the teleprompter for shit! And how many times did he sing??? And how about Beyonce? I just knew she was gonna do a tribute to MJ and kill it, but yet again she disappointed me by by doing some weird ass shit that she jacked from her tour! This chick got on stage with a wedding dress and tiara and sung Sarah Mclaughlin's "In the Arms of an Angel"! Was she freaking serious? They kicked LeToya Luckett off the main stage for that?!

What REALLY pissed me off about the BET Awards was the fact that they kept saying how they were going to do a tribute to MJ, but they never did a big, epic dance number!!!!!! How the hell do you do a MJ tribute without dancing????! That was some straight up bull shit! That right there killed me! LITERALLY!!! The only thing that I liked was Maxwell's performance of "Pretty Wings"! He was the only person who performed on par with award show standards. You could have taken his performance and put it on any award show and it would have fit in seamlessly! Him and Jamie's first performance of "Blame It".


Even though Keri Hilson was doing THE MOST, she had the most up beat performance of the night.

Overall the tempo of the show was so slow!!! And did I mention that it lasted for FOUR HOURS?????!!!! Ugh! At one point, I felt like I was watching the BET Awards from 1972! Don Cornelious gave such a long, winded, and SLOW speech to honor the O'Jays!!!! Oh my shit I thought I was gonna die! As I stated, BET dropped the ball! I bet the ratings were so high seeing as how this was the first award show after Michael's death. CNN was even on the red carpet. I can't wait to read the other blogs that are surely going to trash the award show. Consider this the first! The BET Awards gets a solid D- from me!

Oh yeah, big ups to Drake, who made his network premire. Sucks that he had to perform from a stool because he tore his ACL [whatever that is]. And I'm mad Lil Wayne got his lil girls dancing to "I wish I could Fxck every girl in the world." Smph!!!

What MJ Meant to Me...

I really hate it that it seems like the whole world is on the MJ train right now, because I really do miss this guy. Even though most of everybody who knows me would say that Kanye West is my favorite artist [because he is], Michael was the root of it all. Because of the iconic imagery that I witnessed as a kid, I am who I am today. Real talk: I've sat in my room since Thursday, and I thought about it; I really don't think I'd be running around with metallic gold and purple shoes if I had never seen Michael's swag, especially around the late '80s ans early '90s. The way he carried himself as a king with the bejeweled military jackets and all those bodyguards! WHO DOES THAT?! What Mike gave us between 1984 and 1995 was sheer perfection! No step off beat, no hanging threads, and not a hair out of place! I know the lyrics to damn near every song in his solo career! When I think about the Dangerous album; it was the beginning of high brow, luxurious, and fashionable pop music! GENIUS! My childhood is full of MJ memories..... And who can forget the Smooth Criminal video game for Sega???! He was the forgotten King that was replaced with legions of imitators and swag hackers! He was an innovator! A musical genius! An Icon! He was the "Michael Jackson" of music!!!!! lol

Nike - Terminator Hi - Matte Silver - Black

A new Nike Terminator Hi has been released in a Matte Silver and Black colorway that also features some hints of Blue. What’s interesting about this Terminator is the material used on it, the inspiration having come from Nike’s Pinnacle Apparel Collection. The shoe’s upper features a soft cotton material in Matte Silver while the shoe is pieced together with what looks like bonded seams, the same ones that can be found on various pieces from Nike’s Pinnacle Apparel Collection. These dope Terminator Hi’s are available now at select retailers including Proper.
